We are providing a transitional home for refugees in the Philadelphia area.
First Place is a mission project of Ardmore Presbyterian Church in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. We are excited to welcome refugees and provide them with transitional housing while they prepare to settle in their permanent homes.
“I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
— gospel of matthew, 25:35
We have furnished a leased home in Ardmore, a suburban community west of Philadelphia. This home will be a transitional home for refugees from many different nations including Congo, Myanmar, Eritrea, Syria, and Iraq. Our hope is to welcome these new neighbors with open arms so that they might feel loved and cared for during their transition to life in the United States.
We would love for many people to assist and welcome the individuals and families that will be joining us. Opportunities include providing English conversation, helping with childcare, assisting with the furnishing and upkeep of the home, and providing transportation for doctor's visits and medical treatment. We also have a need for translators especially those with familiarity of Arabic and Swahili. Any way that you could assist would be greatly appreciated. Please fill out the form below if you have any questions or would like to help!
We also have an immediate need for employment for our newest resident. He has all his employment documents which allow him to work immediately. Please let us know if you have any leads!
